The infrastructure specialist, Felipe Montoro Jens has made clear his support for the work being completed by the city of Rio de Janeiro to build a number of new daycare and preschool infant education units creating an estimated 60,000 new places for infants. Unveiled as part of the election campaign of newly elected Mayor Marcelo Crivella, the new places will take the form of both daycare and preschool spots opened up to ensure more families than ever before have the opportunity to access government-sponsored childcare services.
As one of Brazil’s top infrastructure specialists, Felipe Montoro Jens has developed a strong work history based on the building of strong public-private partnerships he believes can improve the standard and quality of government-sponsored programs. Felipe Montoro Jens gave his view of the program unveiled by Mayor Crivella which he believes will follow the trend created in 2012 in the major industrial center of Bolo Horizonte for private companies to play an important role in creating the most up to date and technologically advanced childcare units in Brazil.
Referring back to the Bolo Horizonte model created in 2012, Felipe Montoro Jens believes the election promises of Mayor Crivella point to a stronger future for all to enjoy in terms of preschool education in Rio de Janeiro; the development of new Infant Education Units will be overseen by private companies who will also provide administrative support for these units to ensure they operate successfully and efficiently. The Bolo Horizonte model shows how the support of government agencies will be used to provide school lunches for the users of the school. The addition of the World Bank Group as the infrastructure specialist for the project was also praised by Felipe Montoro Jens as showing the belief Mayor Crivella was showing in this important project.
